Hm...I'm just glad BTBAM isn't stuck opening because of their unorthodox approach to writing music. I've heard they were after HTD on a Bleeding Through headlining tour, and Everytime I Die was after them. That's just wrong.

I'm not a fan of any of the bands listed, but for sure Norma Jean will take the show. They have such stage presence.
I really respect the chops of the guys in BTBAM, but I really don't like their songwriting, and on top of that their stage show (at least, when I saw them headlining) was extremely low-energy. I can understand that they would want to concentrate when they're sweep-picking or whatever, but even during the chug-chugga riffs they were just standing there, looking bored.

Hm....I've heard their live show is better...oh well. I like all of the bands, just definitely not equally.
Although (and this is more understandable) the guys in BTA didn't really do anything except play when I saw them. But still, I mean, everyone in TFoT plays but they're still a very high-energy band live.

Interestingly, a lot of hyper-tech bands (Dillinger Escape Plan, Ion Dissonance, those types) go completely wild on-stage. Though, in the case of Dillinger, their playing does suffer as a result.

Well, I think I'd rather see a band go crazy and suffer a little than see them stand still and sound spot-on; unless I can have both, of course.

Yeah. The Fall of Troy (not super-tech, but technical enough) are really good at being high-energy but still maintaining their musicality.

You mentioning technicality and The Fall of Troy makes me sad, because it makes me think of the TFoT and Number Twelve show I missed here.

BTaM and Misery Signals is a show that I would go see. Dont care much for NJ and the other band with a name thats too long.

Well, I'm basically backing out of this concert. It isn't lack of funds (which I'd originally thought) but simply the fact that one of my favorite bands (and definitely in my top 3 in terms of post-hardcore) is headlining a show here the day before, and some of my friends are going, and I'd rather see a concert with some friends than with one.
In case you're wondering, the band is Thursday. Great band.

I had originally wanted to go to this, but it was the same day as a football game here at the University of Michigan.
