Exactly, and I agree with that stance 100%. We've done about all we can do in Iraq, and I think it's time to re-focus our search on Bin Laden.

Well august, the problem i have with that is that people that like him proclaim that he is going to end the war. i see both mccain and obama just prolonging it.

If you truly vote for who YOU truly believe that will run this country the way YOU want it run, then it's not a waste. The only problem with this statement is that it means no matter who I vote for I'm wasting my vote as either way I'd be voting for the lesser of two evils. I don't want either major candidate (or any of the independants for that matter) running this country. The sad state which this country has entered is that many people vote against a candidate rather than for one. "I'm voting for Obama because I hate Hillary," has now turned into "I'm voting for McCain because Obama is an underqualified idiot," or "I'm voting for Obama because Palin is an incompetent beauty queen and has no business in politics while McCain is 'Bush the sequal.'" I don't care which party you are voting for honestly, because all the candidates are terrible. It is as if each election the candidates try to outdo each other in a pooping competition. "Bush took a dump on this country like never seen before, I promise America a three foot corn log! I'll show you all how crap on a nation right!" The fact that I will have to end up deciding who I hate more and then only vote to try to prevent the lucky winner of the acclaimed "Who does Jacob hate most?" competition from taking office sickens me. There is no winning in this election...not for America at large at least.

I think this is the danger of a two party system, not to mention the fact that few people who are truly qualified really want to be president. It's too stressful and doesn't pay diddly compared to other jobs people could get.

Well, that's pretty much why I'm not voting. The only independent that I would consider voting for is Chuck Baldwin, but I'm not even registered so it doesn't matter.

I'd probably rank the two about the same. They both promise change, but yet fail to specify what change they will bring. The only thing I really agree with Obama about that I disagree with McCain is the Iraq situation. Agreed. Which sucks, because that means I'm going to be casting a veeery reluctant ballot.

i'm relieved that Obama won because i think he's a cool dude, and i think he'll be less bad for the world at large than McCain would have been.
but ultimately, true change will not happen. the united states is still enslaved to the same political and economic system. we are still slaves to the dollar and the flag.
how you live your life is far more important than the X you marked on a sheet of paper today. each day of your life, you vote with your hands, your mouth, your wallet. what if every person lived out the "change" they believe in rather than shrugging off the responsibility on some higher authority? what if every Jesus-follower dedicated him/herself to the eradication of poverty, injustice, and oppression, with personal sacrificial means rather than writing on a ballot?

Yes. how you live your life is far more important than the X you marked on a sheet of paper today. each day of your life, you vote with your hands, your mouth, your wallet. what if every person lived out the "change" they believe in rather than shrugging off the responsibility on some higher authority? what if every Jesus-follower dedicated him/herself to the eradication of poverty, injustice, and oppression, with personal sacrificial means rather than writing on a ballot? Double Yes. i'm relieved that Obama won because i think he's a cool dude, and i think he'll be less bad for the world at large than McCain would have been. No. I have nothing personal against Obama, but I fully believe that he will be every bit the douche-nozzle that McCain would have been, and that there was no possible positive outcome.
