So all this complaining for three guitarists again was for nothing. There are very few times where a third guitarist makes sense in a live show, even with one guitarist playing keyboards sometimes. Just makes the sound muddy in my opinion. The only people clamoring for it are those that just think it looks cool and by extension have convinced themselves that it sounds better that way. Well, that's my take on it anyway.

I agree. I could never really hear Sean on TD anyway.

I agree. I could never really hear Sean on TD anyway. All three albums are recorded with three guitar parts whether they have three guitarists on them or not. It helps to double the rhythm parts in the studio because it makes them sound "meatier." (That's a technical term.) However, it's just too difficult for two guitarists to be COMPLETELY in sync in a live situation, so it comes out sounding muddy when you add a third guitarist to the mix. Keep in mind, I don't have any intimate knowledge of this. I'm just guessing. But it's an intelligent guess. ;D

I was very impressed by seth's vocals on Dichotomy. I think it would of been better if it was him singing rather than ryan clark on the actual album.

Oh and by the way...does anybody else feel thatt the live shows sound a bit lacking without 3 guitarists? maybe its just me..but i think it has sounded a bit empty sinec the band became a 4 piece. Freaken amazing still, but it could be a be a bit bigger soundnig IMO. Its all in your head. Sean was usually so quiet on stage that no one could hear him cuz his tone and playing ability was so poor. The lack of "big-ness" night now has to do with the fact that Jon is playing through a Line6 Pod. We had a long talk about it though and he recently purchased a new amp which will make a huge difference. Word up. Actually thats pretty sweet to hear. So by the time you guys get the $$$ to come to the west again on tour you will sound nice and beefy . And you guys did soun d big, jsut not as big as i would have liked. and also, i wasnt at the show. It could be simply the vid. But honestly, the reason i petition for the 3rd guitarist is not to have 3 chugging at once. That is muddy. But to have harmonies, and more keys. 3 guitarists so while one does leads, the other does a rythem thing, and seth does chords to it. Thats full sounding IMO. And heck if Derek Corzine joins BTA (Lol I know i sound annoying by now) we can have duel shredding power! So to make a long story short, 3 chuggers isnt good. lead, rythem, and keys with the occasional 3rd guitar playing would be amazing IMO! And because this is all techincal stuff anyways that doesnt reeeealy matter. Praise God and Hallelujah that He has reached down to save us! If I was at a show Ide be praising God, not complaining about number of guitarists or crap like that.

If so I dunno..Its good but its not really seths voice haha. But you were probably reffering to another part. *EDIT* I read the post below mine. Mmkay I gotcha. They did sound pretty good yea.
