Is it true that in Canada, now, you're not allowed to speak ill of other religions?

I was told that you guys aren't allowed to say "my religion is the only way to heaven" or whatever. I never trust word-of-mouth, so I wanted to make sure.

IT IS TRUE. PASTORS HAVE BEEN ARRESTED FOR READING THE SCRIPTURE CONDEMNING HOMOSEXUALITY AS AN ABOMINATION TO THEIR CONGREGATIONS.

Really?? Oh damn...my church...is in trouble then. We dont go out on the streets and yell at the homos...we are not crazy...we just preach that their sin is wrong...and they have just as much right to be saved from their sin as we did. So yeah...I dunno about this...its really the first time i heard about this. If thats true...then i'll be moving out of canada as fast as I can...

I think that if someone reports it to the police it's a massive on the spot fine for the pastor to pay.

I have not even heard about this. And if it's true, that's insane.
Can anyone link me to any news or anything on this?

Of course we can criticize religion, and of course we can say ours is the only correct path! We can say almost anything, as long as it doesn't incite hatred. There's quite a difference between saying you can't get to heaven unless you're a Muslim/Christian/Hindu/Pastafarian and railing against homosexuals as being evil in the eyes of God. The former is just not being wishy-washy, and the latter is hateful bigotry.
On a topical side-note, I'm very pleased that Canada and other Western states will not be following the recently passed UN motion to ban defamation of religion.

Well, people will interpret things as worse as possible if they don't like it, and call any statements of beliefs or opinion hate because it is different from theirs.
