Too bad I don't care about Living Sacrifice.

Really? Destroyed 666 is from Australia and Immortal visits like every month. Both of which destroy Living Sacrifice, who's first album is the only one worth anything anyways. I've never heard of either of those artists... and I don't think there has been a LS album yet I've been disappointed with. That first album is just... awkward. *edit* Ha ha, I wouldn't even give either Destroyed 666 or Immortal a second glance. They're just... ha ha. No thanks.

The image they portray just really isn't my thing.

How about you listen to the music? Sure Immortal looks like a bunch of a**holes in Call of the Wintermoon, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying the music.
Candlemass on the other hand...

First off, the first LS album is not awkward its what we in "the biz" like to call Thash Metal. I know, I know. Absolutely wild! Solos! Lack of Chugging! Intricate Leads! Soaring Vocals! Now calm down. I can understand a mindf**k at this level could be intense for your fragile metalcore soul, but calm down a little and lets test out the waters. This debut is a watered down Thrash though, so maybe you can handle it. Maybe after we try that out we can take off your papers and put a special pair of Pull-Ups called Metallica! Make sure to wet and s**t in them a little extra, because they've crossed over into your realm into the recent years. After than we can put you in the whitie-tighties of the Big Four. Though we may have to put a plastic sheet over your bed at night still. And when your balls finally drop down maybe you finally fit in those boxers called Hellhammer, Coroner and Morbid Saint. I mean we can't wipe your metalcore ass forever. As for dismissing Destroyer 666 and Immortal, as Ethan said FOAD. They will have more creative force and talent than you and your s**t band will ever have. FOAD and leave the f**king Hall.

They got increasingly original with each cd after that. They were on the forefront of the metalcore movement and put out some damn good stuff. In short, I think LS is cool and nothing you say will make me think otherwise. So NYAH! *Sticks out tongue.*

The first LS cd is a rip-off of Slayer. It's a poor one at that. However, it's still leagues beyond the rest of their metalcore crap. For some reason I just don't find replacing a pedal note with a chugging riff as creative but rather as different. And done with equally levels of mediocrity. I happen to find mediocre thrash better than mediocre metalcore though.
As for me being an elitist? So what if I am? I like what I like. It's not like I dismissed Living Sacrifices music for their image like another poster here did for Destroyer 666 and Immortal. I used to listen to their entire discography, however now I find their melodies and technique (and lack thereof) boring, with their early attempt at thrash the only thing I can mildly enjoy. So yes I view Thrash as the superior metal sub-genre. But it is because I have listened to and given a chance everything equally and have found which one I enjoy more and I think it is the stronger style.
To be honest there is all of about four posters here who I share really a lot of musical taste with. I'm not even sure why I attempt to post.

My girlfriend's brother downloaded a torrent of them, I think he has all of them. But everytime I go over to their house there's so much stuff to get caught up in. Like, mostly playing and listening to music. His room is our designated practice area, for now.

They are definitely worth checking out.
The artwork in GAIBSIV: FFTtEoM is amazing. And the story is great too. It's also fun to pick out moments and lines from songs that appear here and there.
