have you heard Mercy Lord or Jesus, Jesus, Ver Du Hjå Meg by Antestor? No, I have yet to hear an entire Antestor album. I still think BTA should record one. Listen to those two songs. Seriously. Especially Mercy, Lord.

mmmmm.... Mercy, Lord is definitely doom. Not sure about the other one. But yeah, that's kind of what I was thinking of... for doom hymns.

I think something along the lines of Morgion or later My Silent Wake kinda doom with lots of acoustic guitar and stuff would be pretty sweet.
BTA, any plans in the works for your next single?

I thought they were working on a new album already...
...or was it just a dream...

To be honest. I'd rather BTA just stick to what they do best. I like one off stuff like this. But I don't want them to change their signature sound because they've really been making progress with it with the last album.
Stick to progressive death metal and continue to push that.

Stick to progressive death metal and continue to push that. I agree 100%, but I think they should make a whole album of covers of old fashion epic hymns.

Chris - I definitely agree. I think "Dichotomy" is by far their best album yet and I am very excited to hear what their next album will sound like. But I think the release of singles allows them to be more creative and risky with respect to the type of music they create. Personally, I'd like to see BTA really push the boundaries and do something different with the singles and continue their awesome progression through their full-length albums.

Well yes, but how many singles are we talking between albums? If they are just writing and recording the singles quickly in downtime then I'm all for them. And I do like the idea of them experimenting with different genres through the singles. But I don't want the full-length albums to be held up because they are writing and recording and endless stream of singles. But it took a whole year between Dichotomy and NF coming out. With NF being talked about for at least 6 months of that. It's just not enough music to keep us satisfied if singles kept on being released at that rate.
So what am I saying?
I think if BTA were to release a new full-length album every 18 months in their signature style with 2 stand alone singles experimenting more radically with genre or whatever else they wanted released at the sixth month intervals between the albums then I would walk away very happy.
So it'd look like this:
Album - 6 months - Single - 6 months - Single - 6 months - Album
But as always, I hope BTA do whatever they feel called to do and listen to the Lord first, then themselves, and then to us, the fans.
Chris

I just realized that Necrotizing Fasciitis was the Beyond Adaptation I wanted that was not on the last two albums.

I just realized that Necrotizing Fasciitis was the Beyond Adaptation I wanted that was not on the last two albums. HAH! holy s**t you're right. But this song has bigger balls than beyond adaptation.

I don't think there's anything to worry about, they've never let us down before.

I listened to the Solid Sate podcast a day or so ago. They completely butchered introducing this song. They didn't research the meaning or the pronunciation.
