Darwin admitted on his death bed that many of his theories about human evolution were false. no, he didn't. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elizabeth_Hope#The_Lady_Hope_storyread and learn and yeah, evolution is still a theory that we've talked about a s**t-ton on here, it's been beaten to death, etc. I stand corrected. Thanks for posting that link.

That link talks not about what Darwin thought of evolution's validity, rather the invalidity of Christianity.
IMO, it seems a bit out of place for Darwin to muse on how Christianity is historically false and that God does not exist. It would be like me, a man who studies music, making definite claims regarding "truths" within the study of economics. While I may be interested in economics, I don't study it; In turn, my word shouldn't be what a man 200 years later should listen to in order to study economics. Darwin was no renown philosopher or historian-- he was a biologist.

I believe in evolution. Jacob, I thought you were leaving these boards?
I believe in evolution, guided by the hand of God. Essentially, evolution happened and God used it as a method to bring about life, including human life, upon the earth.
Also, I love how creationists try to say "ZOMG IF WE CAME FROM CHIMPS THEN WHY IS OUR DNA SO DIFFERENT WOAH". We didn't come from chimps. We didn't come from apes or any other kind of species of primate that currently walks the earth. ALL primates that are currently in existence on the earth came from a SINGLE common ancestor. It's sort of the same way that there are so many species of dogs that all came from a very small core group of dogs many thousands of years ago.
Because all primates diverged from one single ancestor a very long time ago, it is possible to extrapolate that there would be massive amounts of changes between the genes of each of the individual species. That's why we're all so dramatically different.
The article was very interesting.

Humanity in the earliest stories of the Bible was far more mentally advanced than the earliest species we supposedly evolved from.

^I think you missed his point.
The way I understand it, organisms of any kind do not naturally change into something better than they were before, unless guided by an outside force. Without humans, there would be far fewer species and kinds of animals living today.

How do you reconcile that belief with the account in Genesis where God created man and woman? Humanity in the earliest stories of the Bible was far more mentally advanced than the earliest species we supposedly evolved from. You think that the entirety of Genesis occurred in a day-by-day time line, with no gaps whatsoever between stories like Cain and Abel, Noah and Abraham?
