as of yesterday, authorities have discovered that my chemistry teacher, Mrs. Huhndorf, has been showing students how to make chloroform and allegendly allowed them to inhale it. today, during police investigations of her classroom (and with help from both Mrs. Huhndorf and the students who have been inhaling the chloroform), police have discovered that she was also making nitroglycerin (which is highly explosive and is used in TNT) and so the bomb squad had to come. the entire school was evacuated today. the only thing i can say about this is that Mrs. Huhndorf seemed like a pretty normal teacher and i'm rather surprised (but not afraid) about what happened. especially since Livingston's such a small town, who would'ave known? I thought your teachers and classrooms were safe to trust, but i guess not anymore. anyway, you can get more info here.... www.mercedsunstar.com/2011/05/25/1905193/police-livingston-high-school.html

@ jeremy: oh wow. she can't help it that she's somewhat balding (she has a really wide part) and that she normally keeps her hair combed over. besides, they only make you look horrible in mugshots just for media purposes.

Aw c'mon dude, it's California! She's not going to get the death penalty for this! Instead, she'll get a lifetime sentence in a plush vacation-home loosely called "prison" with all-inclusive gourmet food, swimming pools, a golf course, time for sun-bathing, a personal masseuse... all on us Californians' tax dollars!

Kerrick: lmfao so true man...so true. but no she won't get the death sentence because 1) everyon'es a retard and thinks it's too cruel and 2) she didn't kill anyone, she just got arrested for child endangerment and possession of explosives. i'm thinking a good 10 or 20 years is in question.

I'm a proponent of the death penalty, but even though this is needlessly reckless, it's not execution-worthy. I agree with your length of a prison term, though. That sounds fair.

hmmm we don't have death penalty here either....
Only one political party - a very small one - wants to have death penalty, so there isn't really any discussion over whether to have it or not in my country; most people tend to think it is rather barbaric and unfitting for a modern western country.

i only agree with the death penalty because of Genesis 9:6 and because logicaly it seems fair enough: you kill someone, you should pay with your life too. i'm not into the bararic "eye for an eye" laws because there is a huge difference between getting your arm crushed off for stealing a loaf of bread and having lethal injections for killing someone. the life sentence doesn't really serve any justice at all since you still get your basic home care in prison.
anyway, that's just my two cents...didn't mean to start a huge arguement.

That's pretty much where I'm at, too. I was born and raised in Ohio. Our courts would have no problem putting people on the fast track to the needle party if it's called for. A life prison term doesn't seem to be, well, "justice" to me. Unless you feel that Bubba and His Merry Band of Prison Caretakers will do the deeds themselves. As for me, though, I'd prefer the courts make that determination.

To base such a belief on a single Bible verse is extremely careless. (an understatement)
When reading the verse it reminded me of "those who live by the sword shall die by the sword." But that is just a quick thought and opens a whole other opportunity for interpretation.
I think an important passage to look at which reflects an important view in the New Testament is John 8.
THOUGH, when it comes down to it, one should base their beliefs on the teachings of the ENTIRE Bible as a whole. Hopefully this would lead to a lower chance of misinterpretation.

Am I the only one that finds it pretty hilarious that this thread's topic has completely been changed due to Al's joke reply??? Plus, isn't there already a death-penalty topic in the FBaO section?
