So I was watching The O'Reilly Factor the other night (which is pretty much the only cable news show I watch...well that and the Daily Show but I'm not sure I'd call that a news show) and he was doing a segment on this Judge who sentenced a convicted rapist to only 60 DAYS!!! The guy was found guilty of raping a little girl at least four times and because the Judge didn't care for the prison system he only gave the guy 60 days. I thought that was sick enough but there were actually some guys on the show defending the Judge's decision! Man this p***es me off to no end! All I can say is the guy is lucky because if I was the judge I would've immediately sentenced him to death, cased closed! Any thoughts?

Wow... That's just... wow... RIDICULOUS. I don' t think I would have sentenced him to death (though he does deserve it) but life in prison without the possibility of parole. He will just do it again when he gets out... Why don't people understand this?

The very minimum sentence for rape should be 25 years with no parole, and a second conviction of life in prison with no parole. However, if done with a child, it should be life, no parole automatically. Let's face it, that is sick, sick, sick. To scar a child for life (if the rapist lets them live) simply so the rapist can get his selfish rocks off for a few minutes is the lowest of the low and they should be locked away for good. That judge should be kicked off the bench immediately!

I heard that this morning and I was like "Yeah, he hates the prison system until it's HIS daughter being raped."
That makes me sick....my aunt Judy was raped by her father starting when she was 6 years old. She's a lesbian now because she's utterly terrified by men and the fact that they may hurt her like her dad did.
That's beyond twisted. As a woman, I'm revolted by this.

Yeah, i think he should be given life because he basically ruined this innocent little girl's life

Honestly I feel like beating people like that judge. When I hear things like this I get really p***ed off, I guess I have an anger problem. As for the rapist, I think any child rapist should be sentanced to life without parole..... Oh yah I feel like beating the rapist too.

I'm surprised everyone prefers that this guy get life rather then the death sentence because once he is in prison he'll be killed quickly enough anyway...either that or he'll have done to him exactly what he did to that little girl which would serve as a good punishment. The song "Date Rape" by Sublime comes to mind.

I heard about this all over forums.
You have to keep in mind the judge is the judge. We the people can express our opinions, our beliefs and what we think should happen or should happen. In the world of law you have the police officer who arrests and takes the guy to court and enforces the law, and the judge interprets and decides the law. In this case the judge felt that 60 days was more important to make the guy "rehabilitate". We can only say that we fell it's wrong, nothing we can do about it.
I do not agree with the ruling, I think it's rediculous because rapists and pedophiles are usually repeat offenders and it generally only leads to worse things such as murder and/or torture and such horrible things. If it were the child of the judge I'm sure it would be different. However, this is messed up. It really makes me wonder if something more is going on behind the scene as I've never heard of anyone with a good heart and a means for justice rule a child rapist 60 days, if anything it's generally a no mercy max penalty.
Indeed a twisted world but since when has the world not been twisted since Adam and Eve bit that nasty piece of fruit?
Saddam and gomorrah, was that not twisted? Judas betrayed Jesus, was that not twisted? When I was a kid I recall the same stuff, not at the same volume but hearing news of horrible things, hearing my parents say "it seems to get worse all the time... *sigh*" is that not twisted?
No my friends, the world is not GETTING twisted it HAS been twisted since sin was invented. That's fact. And yes, it appears to be worse but the only thing you can do is pray, listen, learn and realize that it isn't getting twisted, it has been twisted. Anyone thinking that the world was "good" and "fairly innocent" up till "this point" is being blinded.

Also remember that the world is not going to be better any time soon because the end is near.
