Saturday night in Pinson, BTA headlines the very last Shma show Birmingham will ever see.
It's sad, but I'm glad at the same time, I haven't gotten to see or hang out with the guys since the last time they played down here (sometime back in January).

Let me also say a HUMONGOUS thank you to BTA for coming out and playing the Shma. I still think that by far they are probably the most popular band to play there. They bring the metal but most importantly, they bring the Message and as much as road & band life can be a huge struggle at times, they live the life too. Can't ask for anything more than that!

It went well, not as heavily attended as I would have liked to have seen, but that's ok. God had the people show up who He wanted to have there. All the bands sounded amazing last night. I even got up there and made a complete idiot of myself grabbing the mic during One Man Parade at the breakdown section. That was fun! I probably sounded terrible, but I ddn't care. I love the guys in the band and hope we have a long relationship to come.

Have I also mentioned that somewhere out there is a picture of me and David from the Showdown locked in mortal headbang? Someone claimed to have taken a picture of that. So, aside from playing with Empire in Ruins, I have had plenty of times where I have made myself look silly. But, it's all worth it for this aging metalhead.

That would be awesome bro! There isn't anything like being on the stage and playing but being on a stage with a band you really like is just as cool. Whether Wisdom appreciated me taking the mic for that little bit in the song, I'm not too totally sure or when David from the Showdown and I were locked in mortal headbang, it's just a cool feeling. When I was your age, I never dreamed of getting to do that kind of stuff. Course, my goals were loftier then. Iron Maiden, WASP, Ozzy.........

Every night before an awesome concert, I always dream that someone in the band gets a cold or something and needs someone to fill in...and I'll just let your imagination soar.

The first time I saw the Showdown, David was sick and barely had a voice. How he managed through the set, I'll never know, but he managed. During Monument....., he handed the mic to me during the chorus and I sang most of the chorus for him. Someone said, hey, wow, his voice suddenly got stronger, then they realized, it was me singing. I remember also being sore for a week after that show too.

Yes, the Showdown always puts on a good show. I'll be seeing them with Project 86 in 10 days (4-26) and I expect to be in the circle pits and up stage losing my skull.
