Looks like a giant snore-fest to me. Yes, but of course it's all the rage on TBR....lawl.

Well, some of us enjoy bands that actually put on a good live show. There are hundreds of bands that sound crappy on cd, but put on a much more entertaining show than...say a technical death metal band or what have you.
When I listen to an album, I want quality musicianship and song-writing, when I go to a show I want to be entertained. But that's just me. From what I've seen of a lot of technical bands, they sound exactly the same live as they do on cd, and to me that is kind of boring.

the holy grail is having great songs on the album, and them being note-perfect live and still being entertaining. Down did this here last week.

I didn't say every band was like that (Becoming The Archeype for one), but most of the one's I've seen or seen videos of.

Well, some of us enjoy bands that actually put on a good live show. I like a great live show too, but I want to enjoy what I'm hearing as well. You seem to be making a huge generalization in saying that technical bands don't put on good live shows....

The fact that The Dillinger Escape Plan exists refutes that whole idea

Honestly, the music itself is only part of the reason I'd see Scream the Prayer tour. I think it will be really fun. And I'm hoping God will work when Sleeping Giant plays. I've heard about stuff happening at their shows.

You seem to be making a huge generalization in saying that technical bands don't put on good live shows.... I said that the technical bands that I've seen or seen videos of. I'm sure there are plenty technical bands that do put on good live shows. I was just speaking from experience. A generalization would have been me saying that "every technical metal band has a boring live show" which I didn't say, and I apologize if you thought that's what I saying. I was basically saying that just because a band isn't "technically" sound or whatever doesn't mean they can't put on a good live show, and disagreeing with the statement that Zhou had said about it being a "giant snore-fest".

The tour is in Seattle the same night as At The Gates. And of course, At The Gates will take priority, haha.
