You say that like conservative thinking dominates American media. Which is....Well. Lets say that couldnt be any farther away from being a true statement.

It has nothing to do with how I feel about the media (which I will readily admit is dominated by idiots in general, and specifically liberal idiots), it's just that those seem to be the two options people give when talking about socialism. (Btw, what's wrong with Sweden?)

I think a fair bit of socialism is necessary to make economies work, cuz pure capitalism (as with pure anything) is never the answer.

Runny, you should not be considering moving to a country you know nothing about.

Anyways...I forgot who it was who said they are economically socialistic.. But Im still very interested in hearing why this is so. 'twas me. I am economically socialist, because I am an unrealistic idealist, and I trust the government more than I trust wealthy buisness man, so I'd rather have the government do all the stuff. My problem is that strong socialism and democracy don't always go hand in hand, and if you get a country to be ruled by a, in theory, benevolent dictator, the system is too open for corruption. See Soviet Union. I would however seriously like to do things in church as did the early church.

Not sure. I've identified mostly with the left wing of politics for years, but I'm hesitant to label myself "liberal", because that seems to imply defying tradition in nonproductive or counterproductive ways just for the hell of it, which I think is dumb. I support socialized economy, yet I don't want a huge, controlling government, and in other areas I'm generally more libertarian/conservative in terms of the government and its amount of control/regulation. I'm anti-war, pro-marijuana legalization (gimmie that weed), strongly pro-gay rights, support animal liberation and am strongly against any form of killing (including abortion and capital punishment). I could be labeled "feminist" simply because I'm against anyone being assigned a specific "role" by society and/or the government, but I don't associate myself with the modern feminist movement due to how distorted and counterproductive it has become. In general, my political views are a mixed bag and probably impossible to peg.
