yep. just saw underoath in chicago for my first time. they were with Person L, TDWP, and Saosin. Person L was not too bad. i got there right at the end of their set, so i didn't hear much, but they weren't too bad. TDWP though... was not so great. i just hate how popular they are. when i first saw them, dear love had just come out and they weren't big yet, so it was super sweet. tonight though... it sucked. it was just so many stupid emo kids hardcore dancing everywhere. i literally tackled 5 kids. just cuz i hate hardcore dancing and small children like that. they think they're all hardcore and stuff. anyway, not the point. they didn't even play that well. they were decent, but just not up to par. They put on a good show, they know how to, the music just wasn't all there... Saosin, i have never heard and they were actually pretty darn good. i was surprised. i enjoyed them. Underoath... oh man. i cant even describe it. it was everything i had hoped for and more. they were AMAZING. a friend of mine has seen them 7 times and said it was the best he has ever seen them play. Oh man they were great. i got N earring ripped out. that wasn't so fun. but man, when they came back out to play the encores. Yes, there was 2. Writing on the walls was last, and oh man. at that last part, i thought the place was really gonna collapse. EVERYONE was moving. it was so amazing to see that. just wanted everyone to know how it was. if anyone is interested enough to read the whole thing, then thanks. all in all it was a great night. Underoath's set was definitely the best. anyway, goodnight all.

what??
they were good. but the people there pretty much ruined the show for me. i came to see them play, not scene kids dance around like fairies. hence the tackling.

Does disliking someone dancing really give you the right to tackle them? yes. And that's usually how that discussion goes nowhere.

Some of them do really deserve it though.

By 'some of them', he means 'most of them'.

in the venue, there was 2 mid sized pits on either side of the floor. they would sometimes merge into one bigger one, but thats not the point. the point is, at the place i was at, there are 3 levels of the grouod floor, separated by guard rails. behind me, literally right against the back wall of the closest level to the stage, 2 kids (probably 14 or 15 years old) just made their own little pit and were having somewhat of a "hardcore dance-off" of just themselves... i sw it and watched for about 5 seconds. then i intervened. and no, i dont know how to spell that word. anyway, honestly, come on. they really did deserve to get tackled. that was one of the dumbest things i have ever seen. and also, it was pretty funny, to me.

I advocate tackling core dancers. Those kids are way too inconsiderate and always hurt people. One of them broke my freaking foot! He grabbed me by my shoulders as a I politely stood (obviously not wanting to be in the scenester limb orgy) and yanked me backwards making me fall and land on my foot wrong, breaking three of my knuckles. People, who just want to enjoy a show have to constantly be on guard so they don't get hit or kicked by some oblivious meathead, and usually end up getting hit anyway.
It's not neccesarily that I'm a vengefull tyrant and think they should be attacked, I just think they should be stopped, and tackling seems to be the most efficient way to do so.

I advocate the tackling of hXc dancers, so long as they've hit someone or they're just not being respectful. There are SOME of them (I know, it's counterintuitive, but it's true) that actually are respectful.
However, if they attack someone, or if they're just being a general douchebag, then there is nothing wrong with sticking out an arm and clotheslining them.

Im freinds with some hardcore kids...and they are really good people...its just those people like Mr. Ferd said...those people that just hit anyone..ticks me off...this one jerk hit a young 15 year old girl at a local show and most of the people(inculding most the hardcore kids) tackled the idiot and he had his necked stepped on....

People are generally respectful at most of the shows around here, but we do get the occasional idiot. I just don't like hardcore dancing in general because I really feel that it's distracting to the people who are trying to enjoy the show (like myself).
