He just said not everyone is dumb, which is obvious. My post was clearly hyperbole, you dimwits fail to understand exaggerations and hyperbolic things I say. Like I care if religious people will take me seriously. Ask me how much I care. They won't take me seriously because I don't have blind faith in a supernatural spirit, that's cool dude. Continue living your sham of a life ignoring facts and focusing on faith. The Bible is a joke, your holy book is full of so many historical and biological errors and yet your God is perfect. Get a hold of your life. I don't take you seriously because of your antagonistic demeanor. I know you're all "it's the internet, you don't know how I really feel," but since it is the internet, your words are all we have to go by, so... Calling people dimwits, etc, is just silly and reeks of arrogance/"OMG how am I so much better than everyone else" You aren't any more logical or apt to believe to facts than any sane Christian, or follower of any religion. You just have a skewed few of what facts are, e.g. saying God doesn't exist or is unknowable, not a fact. Also, nice straw man about faith. There aren't any significant errors in the Bible, just your "interpretations" and/or out of context ravings. But atheists are depressed, miserable, unloving people with no values! How can you live like that, Brent?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! The Bible never says that, just that those who are not Christians wicked/evil/sinful or perhaps foolish. Sin may lead to those things, for some people, but obviously not everyone.

The Bible says the world is 6000 years old and the Earth is the center of the universe. Yeah, those are just my interpretations.
and yeah, supernatural beings can totally be proven with naturalistic means.

I can't accept that life happens by complete chance. The odds of life are so minescule and so mindblowing but I can't live knowing there's no purpose!

The Bible says the world is 6000 years old and the Earth is the center of the universe. Yeah, those are just my interpretations. The Bible says none of those things. The first one was a belief a theocracy (and most other people no matter their religion or lack thereof) held a number of centuries ago. The second is an interpretation that SOME Christians have of the Bible. I'm not trying to make a point here: just clarifying.

nah I knew that I just wanted you guys to win an argument for once
bottom line is you guys have no real arguments for the existence of your god and never will.
You can ask me why I demand empirical evidence, but I can just ask you why you DON'T need empirical evidence. The circle of life will continue on. We will live and die and be forgotten. Two generations from now won't give a s**t about us, assuming the human race lasts that long. Religion is the ultimate double edged sword, it helps and contributes to society with charity and good intentions and objective morality, but at the same time creates hate and destruction because of how gullible people are.
If we had empirical evidence the world would probably implode. Either way I don't give a s**t and just care about my own happiness, as it is the only thing that matters. That is my reason for existing.

Religion is the ultimate double edged sword, it helps and contributes to society with charity and good intentions and objective morality, but at the same time creates hate and destruction because of how gullible people are. While Christianity has done damage, it has done more good than harm. The largest amount of brutal murder has been the product of Communist (a view largely based on radical Atheism) ideology. About 20-million were killed under Stalin and his comrades. 40-million under Mao Zedong and his. Many of these were tortured (i.e. put into labor camps, starved, beaten, etc.). The values behind these two maniacs were based on an Atheist worldview put into a political context by Karl Marx. These Atheist values are a menace and continue to be a threat to modern day humanity. No contemporary Christian value is. Whether there is a God or not, none of the 20th century mass murders would have taken place if Russia, China, Germany etc.. and their leaders had followed a Judeo-Christian value system(s). It could have stopped all of it, and it continues to have the ability to stop cruelty as long as people continue to adhere to it.

Atheism used by communism and Marxism is very idiosyncratic and in no way reflects on atheism as a whole. This is like saying because a select group of Muslims are terrorists that they all are and that Islam is terrible.
Also, atheism's lack of uniform beliefs and practices exclude it from being a religion anyway, more akin to philosophy.

bu bu Hitler was a Christian He was raised Catholic, but as an adult, he quit practicing. While he was a political leader, he tried to appeal to the Christians in Germany by making some remarks about God. Most of the officials who knew him though, knew that he saw Christianity as a hindrance to Nazi Germany. He outlawed Christianity as we know it today, and had some German officials create Positive (Nazi friendly) Christianity which excluded the Old Testament, all Jew-friendly scriptures in the New Testament, and insisted that Christ was an Aryan and not a Jew. He had plans to eventually eliminate Christianity (including Positive Christianity) altogether. Confessing (traditional) Christians who were caught by the Nazis were sent to Death Camps. Nazi Germany did not operate under Christian values. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hitler

Also, atheism's lack of uniform beliefs and practices exclude it from being a religion anyway, more akin to philosophy. You are right. Not all Atheism holds Marxist values, but it's enough to be a significant problem (as with Islam). I am fully aware that some Atheists are wonderful people, some Christians are jerks, and vice versa. That's not the issue though. The issue is what belief system can stop mass murder and other gross evils. Atheism sure as Hell couldn't have done it. But if the majority of people held Christian values, the Governments would've been overthrown. If the Communist leaders had Christian values, most of this would never have started.

I should just focus on ones that matter and continue beating your ass up and down the court. You mean avoiding addressing actual issues and just throwing ridiculous insults around? Yeah... you're definitely winning there.
