Well, I must say it was a good show. August Burns Red put on a good show, but the music wasn't mind-blowing to me. The Showdown is what you should expect from a stage of rednecks--good ol' southern fun! I also mentioned to David that they should tour with BTA again. Project 86...good show, good music. It probably would have been a better experience if I knew the words to more then half the songs and if my friend didn't get sick near the end (it was his first concert). I got some injuries...bruised eyebrow, broken vessels on my cheeck, and a headache...oh, and for all them moshers and dancers...dancing on August Burns Reds, headbanging on the Showdown, and punk moshing on Project 86. No fights please...

For Hammers and Blades? Well, they were in my town last Wednesday...that's about all I can give you.

My first attempt at a concert review:
5 Bands
1. A local band that was in the 3 degrees tournament, ok band.
2. Schema - A band from Arkansas. Decent sound, but the only one who looked like he wanted to be there was the singer. The bassist and the guitarist hardly even moved. Check out the band though, they are a decent cd band. The singer told the crowd that the band's name was Schema, someone in the crowd asked him what it meant, he replied that they just liked the sound of the word. Someone else in the crowd shouted, "Use the word in a sentence!", the singer replied, "We're from Arkansas", and shrugged his shoulders.
3. The Showdown - A little biased, because I really like this band. They were loud, lively and banging their heads like usual. They invited everyone to Gameworks to play some Deer Hunter game. They played mostly unknown newer stuff, so it was a little tough to follow along. When they did play a known song, the crowd got pretty into it.
4. August Burns Red - WHOA!! I have their cd, but haven't listened to it that much. This band is extreme hardcore, the crowd was alive and moving. A pit started (Which is not allowed at 3 Degrees), this was by far the most hardcore band that I have seen. Very good, quality sound, and the band gathered around the drum kit prior to the start of their set and prayed. I thought that was cool!
5. Project 86 - I am not really into these guys much, too mellow for me, I guess. BUT I got my HM issue the day before the show and read a journal article by Andrew Schwab, then I saw their stage presence, their sound, and then he spoke some in between songs, and I am blown away by this band. Where they have come from, and where they are now, it's mind blowing. I want to read more about Andrew and his writings, and study the lyrics more. I am in love with this band.
