Whats funny about this is that buddists arent supposed to feel emotion. They obviously are here.

Whats funny about this is that buddists arent supposed to feel emotion. Not true. I have no idea where you got that information from, but buddhist monks are allowed to feel emotion. They just learn to control their emotion. There's a huge difference.

I think I've heard that the goal for buddhists is to get rid of all desire.

Yeah, that's a good simple way to understand it.
In very simplistic terms, they believe: 1. Desire produces greed which leads to suffering. 2. Suffering is bad. 3. Elimination of desire eliminates suffering.

We have I think the largest Burmese population of anyone in the nation here in Ft. Wayne, so I've been hearing about this nonstop.

Elimination of desire eliminates suffering. "If A implies B, then not A implies not B." This is actually false logic. But I see the just of it.
