Ok, is it me, or is it refreshing to hear a slightly positive Dave Mustaine? Of the 4 Horsemen (Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth), I didn't care much for Megadeth as a whole. Peace Sells is an amazing album but a lot of their music was always hit and miss with me, and most of the time, miss. But, this new one rocks hard to me. Maybe it's because Dave found God and he's letting God run the show. I actually came away from the CD feeling pretty good. Shadow of Deth is Psalm 23 recited over a pretty heavy groove. Yes, unfortunately, there are a couple of instances where he cusses, but at least it isn't the f-bomb or anything really profane. Overall, I was impressed with it. Anyone else heard it yet?

I haven't heard it. I'm not going to waste my time or money on it, becuase I haven't ever really been into them. I'll pick up peace sells before this.

I was a huge fan of Peace Sells when it first came out way back when. When I picked up the remix/remaster version of it, it sounded so much better than I remembered.

Mustaine was originally in Metallica right?

Yes, back before there was Kirk Hammett, who was in Exodus at the time, Mustaine had been in Metallica. For a long time, there was bad blood between him and Metallica. But, I think Mustaine is trying to put all that behind him and try to make amends with Lars and James.

Well that's always good to hear. I was thrilled when I heard that the guys from Metallica were going through therapy and all that to get their lives straightened out. And James has been sober for how long now?

I don't know if he stayed sober, but it's been, what a year?

I wanted to see Some Kind of Monster when it was out in the theater, but didn't get to catch it. I see it is coming out on DVD later this month.

I've been very close to buying Ride the Lightning and Master Of Puppets lately. One day I'm going to. Those were awesome albums.

Nah, my CD player in my car hates burned CDs. Thanks anyway! For that matter, it's not liking new CDs either.
