Well me and my friend are having a hard time writing material for our band(not the hxc band) as of late. We cant figure out what kind of a style that we want to play, or a way we want to present our music. So we are taking our time to come up with songs and such.
But today, we were chattin it up about ideas, and I mentioned that the Divine Comedy would be a decent concept for our first EP type of thing. I know it might of been done before, but I got a spiffy idea to make it unique.
Its going to be split into 3 different parts, inferno, purgatory and paradise, and each part is going to be played with different type of metal and style, but still have a flow to all the songs so it meshes together nicely. Even if this will be split into three different albums, I want the music to almost have a similar theme to it as well. So far, we have a fairly awesome acoustic intro, and some epic ideas for riffs and how everything will be played out.
Genres we are attempting to tamper with: Death metal, Prog, maybe some Doom and some black metal, but that might be a bad idea.
Thoughts?

Great ideas.
Now produce something we can hear.

We just need to find a decent place to record.
