I think I need a little more balanced collection, but it seems like all the upbeat music I've come across is really based on things like novelty.
I want stuff that is somewhat optimistic, but very artistically driven.

I think by upbeat he means cheerful or pleasant, but he could be meaning something else.

can you give an example of what you consider upbeat? ...Not melancholy? Respectable, but a little feminine for my tastes. It creates a glass ceiling for my enjoyment for some reason. Hopefully I can change that some day. |

Try the new Devin Townsend album "Addicted", it's pretty dance-y and fun and he seems to be expressing a turn-around point in his life.
