He was that man
The mirror facing the God
Unearthed from the muck and the smoke
Redemption defined in its purest ideals
Time had its grip though
And was fighting harder than God
The man let go of his vision
Once awakened
Once awashed
Now passed out in the dirt he once walked above
Time took its hold
God took His leave
The man took his dose
And now rests among the leaves
There is Something here; Something else than God; God played His part and went on His way; And someone has taken His place
She was that portrait
The portrait of brightest hope
Untainted by stains of fear
The greatest epitome of the purest beauty
But she fell
When she couldn't feel anymore
So she let the world feel her
Worldviews based on beauty
Fall apart when ugliness sets in
The demons not needing to show their face
Use their absence to drive in doubt
So she fell
From a beacon of hope to a whore
Crawling on the dirt like the people she pitied
Once so beautiful
Now a victim of the human condition and nothing more
There is Something here; Something else than God; God played His part and went on His way; And someone has taken His place
I looked for a God
I looked for a purpose
I wanted your promises to be real
I had the purest convictions
Defending the faith with the utmost zeal
I had logic, I had books, I could prove you wrong
But I never once had seen what I claimed to be real
Even my humility would be used as a weapon
So pompous in my depravity
Psychological traps I would set for myself and my foes
Never understanding the true gravity
I didn't find truth until I found darkness
The darkness that showed me beyond my eyes
Through the eyes of the devilchrist I stand truly aware
From the the baptism of shadow I am reborn into light
There is Something here; Something else than God; God played His part and went on His way; And someone has taken His place
The saints are dead
The demons are now helping the sinners See
