Throwing this out there:
I've been using FruityLoops to create the drum tracks for my songs, but now that I am using Apple, I can't find anything of use. People have suggested Garageband, Ableton, Reason, and/or Logic, but these only produce loops (as far as I know). I need to be able to create a track beat by beat, so I can get as complex as I want with the kick, snare, and other percussion patterns. Any ideas?

Garageband allows you to create your own specific loops, and you can export them to Logic (this is what I have done in the past). The drum sets available are reasonably nice. I definitely recommend using Logic for your own music though, overall. But garageband does indeed allow you to create your own loops.

Yup yup, not bad. Once I get the mix the way I want it, I'll be on my way to writing again

Is Ethan helping you out with vocals?
