So why are we here? No matter what you believe, there must be some reason for mankind and the rest of the Universe around us. "I don't know" is probably the most honest answer someone could give, and that is my answer. I have strong beliefs that I hold to for the sake of goodness, sanity, and my betterment, but altogether my answer would be that I'm not certain.

There is no reason, we are at the top of the food chain, if humans didn't exist the world would be unaffected

Why would God put people on Earth when He knew the majority of us would choose to not glorify Him and many would choose to be cruel to one another? What does the Lord gain from having us here?

He just wants us to be able to choose Him. To want to love Him.

*cleans up needless spam*
I have many things to say, but right now I'm completely exhausted. I'll revisit this thread when I'm more awake in order to frame my thoughts correctly.

Patrick, you see, the problem with your thinking is that you believe we are.

Patrick, you see, the problem with your thinking is that you believe we are. What do you mean by that? I believe in God, and I believe God wants the most good for as many people as possible. Apart from the areas of life where things are out of my hands (or should be), it is my responsibility to bring about the most good for myself and the world around me. If Christ taught me to be evil, I would not be a Christian. I am because the Bible resonates with my convictions, not because I have any particular desire to conform to the Bible for the Bible's sake.

The bible teaches us to love God and each other, not to strive for goodness.
