If I ever get a band together (and I think I will), I will proclaim my Christianity at all the concerts. I am sick of people using the name of Jesus and what He stands for for fame and money. I daily pray for the bands I listen to so that they will remind everyone in the business that Jesus' way does not end in failure as long as you stay faithful throught the trails. And if they don't do it, I pray 10 times more. I encourage you all to pray for those who may be using Jesus as a label and not a Savior. BTA is one band who can represent Jesus in the correct way. Thank you BTA.

Maylene is a great band. I've only had the chance to see them once and hear a song once in a while, but wow, when them, BTA and Showdown all play together on Feb 5 at the Shma, YIKES!!

Recently, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine claimed Christianity. If this is so, why is his website anti? Why is he still swearin onstage? Need I go on? Unless someone truly shows by their actions that they are Christian, it is safe to assume they are not. Even if they are, the world sees no difference. Christians are to be noticed for their Christianity, not their antiness. You want a Christian band that has great live shows and music, while never compromisin their beliefs? Pick Tourniquet or BTA. Christianity is not a label, it's a callin.

i will not compromise...God's way or no way I agree with this guy! One warnin, will ya remain in your convictions? If ya do, glory to God. If not... I suspect many have said the same thing you said and fallen away. Will you fall away? Will I fall away? (Do not answer...just think and pray...)

And has anyone noticed that it just so happens that the best bands out there tend to be Christian? I think that Christians dominate the heavy music scene... which most people would think is ironic. But hey, Christians really know what it IS to be passionate about something, and know what life is about, so it only seems fitting to resonate in extreme music! In my opinion anyone who follows Christ IS by definition an extreme individual... b/c you had to set aside yourself and follow the most radical dude on the earth!

Christian metal (Heaven metal) dominate the scene because they have more energy and a passion for what they do. They see the challenge of overcoming two stereotypes: 1) Christians listen to only contemporary stuff 2) Metal is about the sex, drugs, metal, girls, swearing, anger
Overcoming both is a BIG accomplishment, and in my eyes, it is. I didn't welcome the Christian metal at first (even when I was Christian), but then found out that the best bands were Christian.
-----------
There are a lot of bands that play at the Shma that I know for a fact are not Christian and play shows just because they know they can manipulate the system. It's very sad, and I wish I could do something about it.

It's very sad, and I wish I could do something about it. I've noticed the same things with a couple of bands that are big in the Shma scene. They've played there several different times. I think Johnny knows who I'm talking about. It is really sad to see that though, they're not playing for God, they're playing so that they can make a name for themselves.

Yeah, it tore me apart. Thankfully, I never liked the bands we're probably thinking of. Hahahahaha

Hahahaha I have two of their buttons, but as for them personally (and their music) I never really did like. There's just something about them....that just...I dunno. It's hard to explain, Alan prolly understands though.

There are some people that come to the shows who are parts of bands, but their attitudes, to me, just poison the atmosphere. And that is something I need to be praying about because I don't want to feel that way towards others.
