I was in Bible class (Christian school) and my teacher gave us this question. We spent quite awhile finding the answer, so I just want to see how well you guys do. Any Bible thumpers?

I remember that we all fall short of the glory of God and Jesus was the perfect sacrifice. So the animals would not suffice, did they all wait until Jesus died to be entered into Heaven or did they all go to hell?

people in the OT were "saved" the same we we are today. they had faith in God and lived according to his statutes. if you remember, God counted Abraham's faith to him as righteousness. and it is the same with us today. when we come to faith in Christ we are deemed righteous by God. the only difference in the OT is that the ultimate sacrifce for their sins hadnt been made yet (as far as we understand time). you gotta keep in mind though that Christ was set aside to pay for sin before time. anywho... ;D

yeah... those people were having hope from afar for the promise to be received. Hebrews 11:13-16 kinda talks about this point. Actually, all of Hebrews 11 talks about how people in the Old Testament were considered righteous by their faith (thats why this chapter is known as "the hall of faith"). All of the animal sacrifices they did in the old testament didn't take away sin anyway (check out Hebrews 10:11)

I'm reading Ecclesiastes right now. WOW!! this is why you should listen to old .hopesfall. nothing can be obtained by grasping at the wind there is no escape from the dualism of life, vanity of vanities. i am embittered towards humanity for its failures yet i possess all of these same shortcomings there is grief in wisdom, there is sorrow in truth yet, the heart of the wise is in the house of mourning and by sad countenance the heart is made stonger in time so, i embrace this burden and weep for the fools that chase the wind
