My preacher at church was giving this sermon on suffering and why the world suffers. He said Christians suffer because Jesus suffered first. He was also talking about Paul and why he went through all kinds of persecution for Christ. But the one thing that hit me and reminded me why I surrendered my heart to Jesus is he said, "When we die and are bound for the Father's house, Jesus is going to meet you and say, 'It's over, your suffering is over...you now live with me in paradise.'" We suffer for Jesus because Jesus suffered for us, and we will live with Him forever.

so true...and like i was reading on 1 Peter i think chapter 3....when we suffer and endure God is glorified and we are blessed...it also says that if it is God's will, it is better for us to suffer for doing good than for doing bad...love you guys.

God is trying to tell me something. I have been thinking about the subject of suffering for a month or so. Then my youth minister gave me a sermon on suffering from his perspective and what it would do for us, not against us. I feel as if God is telling me to prepare for something. I think He is saying that I will suffer, but I need to keep faith in Him. I have been studying the book of Jeremiah and seeing how Israel's destruction came out to be something else then what everyone else were thinking. I feel kinda confused and all and I ask for some prayer.

eh....
i have a different take on that.
We suffer because of sin.We have sadness because of sin....sin that happened in the Garden of Eden.
We werent meant to suffer,God didnt make us to have suffering in our lives it happened as a cause of the fall.
Thats why its not natural for us to be depressed, sad, hurt,"broken hearted",and suffer.

I believe god doesn't give us suffering, but he allows it to come to us. this could be for a few different reasons. it could be to teach us a lesson; something about ourselves; to prepare for our future (like sean (solidstate) was saying), or to teach us about himself.
i also believe what cherryx (i think it was her) said, that god didn't make the earth to suffer, yet it happens.
well thats a very short summary of what i think.... its something i'v thought about ALOT in the last few years.
