Remember to keep all the people that have lost everything in the recent hurricane that hit the us. Despite the fact that they have lost everything I pray that might gain an eternal life for this whole thing.

I have really been thinking about the hurricane today. My family lives in Florida, and I never really worried about them because they grew up with hurricanes and knew what to do. And I figured they'd call us and tell us if something bad or serious happened. But I had a discussion with my friends for about an hour, I was mostly listening because I didn't know anything about it, and I now realize how terrible this incident was. So I will pray, and ask for others to pray.

i been praying...it's really heartbreaking and also helps as an awakening...i don't want to sound like i'm happy that it happened or anything like that...but this in my opinion just shows how we take many things for granted...there are thousands of people in other parts of the world that live in worst conditions, dying everyday for lack of food and in this country we have taken many things for granted...also, this country has become so courrupted including the city of new orleans, we all know what they're famous for (and no, im not talking about Jazz)...i just think that God sometimes needs to slap us on the face and make us realize all this things...i'm sure many ppl who died are with the Lord as sure as many ppl are in hell away from the Lord...this also makes me realize the need of more people reaching out to those who are lost.....so many times we take opportunities that God gives us for granted....please please let's not waste those times that God sets for us to share the good news of Christ with others....it could be with relatives, friends, and even strangers...remember, although we are not all going to be missionaries around the world, we are called to spread the Gospel...let's do that, let's obey Jesus and continue His ministry....this is God's wake up call...God bless you guys

It is a wake up call, just like September 11. We do take things for granted.

Frankly it is not just the city of New Orelans that is corupted. In every city there is drugs, sex, and murder, yet we do not think of those city's as corupt. This whole storm is a symbol of God's mercy rather then his wraith. He has shown us mercy just for the fact that we are alive. We all deserve to die. We all should go to hell, Ever last one of us. But the fact of the matter is God has compassion on us and does not want to see us suffering. He breaks his heart when he see struggling. So that is why he sent us his Son, Jesus Chirst, so that we would not have to suffer in Hell but rather have life and have it to the fulliest. Many people we see the face of God in the compassion that people show them in the hardest hit areas. I just pray that those people will be open to what Chirst has in store for them.

i dont know what to think. i do know that there are some things we just wont know until God calls us home.on one hand God is a God of love and mercy able to calm the storm. on the other God is a God who is outraged at the lack of repentance and the disobedience-the God who leveled sodom and gomorrah... ? ? ? the Word says that God is unchanging. that old testament stuff is not beyond Him.i know he allowed it andthats all i need to know. this is a great opportunity for christians to show Gods love---they will know us by our love for one another!!! prayers all around!

Who are we to know and decide God's motives? Was this a judgement on New Orleans? perhaps, Was this meant as a wake up call for New Orleans? perhaps, Was this a Job-like situation where God stepped back and allowed something to happen so that faith might be built? perhaps. Or maybe it's NONE of these.
It doesn't matter!! All that matters is that we now have a tremendous opportunity to minister to others. Rom 8:28 - God works all things to the good of those who love Him and who are called according to his purpose.
Boy... I wish I was better at taking that to heart in my personal life!
