my school won't let us promote our small ish christian group, Youth Alive, in which we do stuff like christmas shoeboxes... so we can't make announcements or anything yet the Bi/Gay/Lesbian group has free reign over anything they want.......
mind you our principal is Athiest, once he found out i was christian, he almost never let me play in any of our rugby games, which i found odd and frusteratng how i've played every game up to and the year previous...but he finds out what i believe and it's to the sidelines for me
any of your schools like mine?

Mine's a Christian school...problem with my school is there is hardly any spirituality. Really bites because it is a misrepresentation of the name "Christ".

you should meet anyway.the constitution protects freedom of assembly. remember,to the world, the fact that you are christian can be reason enough to lash out against your group! be in prayer and be thankful that you have been elevated by God to be "jesus" to them!!YOU GUYS , MAKE SURE YOU SEPARATE YOURSELVES FROM ANYTHING NEGATIVE OR UN-CHRISTIAN!!there are A LOT-A LOT of people watching what you do. strange as it seems, you may want to talk to the homo-sexual group...believe it or not...and come to them in love without judgement!that may get them to ally with you that your group deserves the same consideration.YOU MAY EVEN WIN OVER A FEW TO THE LORD!!! youre not looking to disband the gay group, you just want to start your own. this could invite a lawsuit on your behalf ,however i would never advocate that.BOARD! PRAY ON THIS!!!!!

It may not be as easy to pursue legal action but you definitely have a right to meet. Maybe they can restrict you from prosletyzing (which, in their opinion, could be as simple as putting up a poster), but they definitely cannot stop a group of like-minded individuals from meeting and doing charity work. Get a teacher's permission to use a classroom during break, or if you still get shut down then use the public space (a corner of a hallway, outside in the field, etc.). If he is actively trying to shut down your meetings on the basis of your beliefs then you may have a case for legal action but in circumstances like these I prefer to avoid the courtroom.
Pray about it too. And pray for yourself, that you can continue to love this guy even when he's not being cooperative.

yah anyone can meet but advertising yourselves through the school ie the state, probably wont fly. not alot you can do. but i would seriously remind everyone that it would be almost impossible to keep the Church out of the state, since you cant control the beliefs of politicians, but it is a wonderful provision that keeps the state almost totally, hopefully, out of the church, that way we dont have to bow before lady liberty.

My friend, reject, here lives in Canada...I know that gay rights and all that is a nasty problem. I'll pray for ya. indeed, it's so stupid..... we actually have 2 guys in their late 50's and early 60's in Ottawa, who have been straight and single their entire lives, but are getting married, not for love, but in order to get the tax benefits that gays have. so all the courts and gay rights people are freaking out saying that they can't because it's not for love, however the statement that they just put in for the gay rights say nothing about having to get married purely for love....i found that kind of amusing and yes, i'm definatly praying about it, our numbers of christian students in my school is growing, slowly but still growing....

I live in Texas, and we have an FCA (fellowship of Christian Athletes) program. I can't really empathise with you on the restraint of meeting, but I'll definately pray for you. Down here, you're expected to be Christian, and those who aren't are looked down upon, so we have a lot of people who just say they are, just to fit in. It really bothers me...if you're not Christian, don't say you are. And why you would pressure people to lie, I cannot understand. It contradicts Christian beliefs and principals.

I too am homeschooled, but I understand your situation. It's not entirely necessary to promote that you are a christian group, but I'm not saying you have to hide it just to get together. I don't know much about Canada's politics but they shouldn't be allowed to stop you.

Here, I say we should all pray about your school or schools surrounding you. Mention the school's name. Something my youth group did was walk around the local schools and prayed for them. It was awesome, now we meet every Thursday and Tuesday morning at the coffee shop to pray for them. So, let me see some school names and I'll bring them so we can pray for them.

Yeah, i also live in Texas and my school also has that. I don't know my schools current situation with that, because I'm not in that club, I'm not going any sports, but if i were, i'd join. Yeah, I can imagine that people who aren't christians would join, just to fit it, which is very saddening...

My school is pretty awesome. Our prinicipal is really old so he acts like a grandfather sometimes and lets you kinda do what you want. I mean, we have a unicycle club at my school. ;D ;D Sweet, right?
