this has been in my head for a while... is it really bad to smoke weed when you're a Christian ? cause weed isn't as bad as alcohol... the only thing is that alcohol is legal and weed isn't yet... i know god said somewhere in the bible that we need to listen to the people put in place to lead a country... but what about now ? with homosexual laws and stuff... homosexual marriage is wrong in all the way possibles for Christians, yet people who've decided to make it legal are leading our country... does that means we cant smoke weed cause its against the law ? but homosexual marriage is legal ? i don't know if u understand where I'm going right now, but if u do maybe someone can en light me on the subject... is it really bad to smoke weed when you're a Christian ? cause when you think about it, wine is natural, and how many times in the bible did people took some wine ? weed is natural too.. personally i don't see why it shouldn't be right.
note: this is only a question about WEED, not about other man-made drugs like coke, ice etc.

Weed isn't any better or worse than alcohol. They are both substances which can have negative effects on your body in different ways. Comparing the two is pointless.

It kinda depends why you take it for, but either way weed is useless and it just alters your mind.

Well, the way i see it- i just don't do like drugs or alcohol, because they pretty much alter your mind and stuff; it's just not cool.
Lol, I'm really not sure about what you are asking, but it really doesn't matter if a drug is natural or not- when you take your main focus off God and put it on something else, well, that's just not what we are to do as followers of Christ. Sorry if it sounds like i'm preaching at you, but yeah, just trying to help, and that's the way i feel about it; so i hope that helped.
Oh, also, yes God wants us to follow our leaders, but that doesn't mean to do everything and anything that the leader says- if it is not right, holy, or pure in God's eyes. Well anyhow, hope that helps.

Remember, your body is a holy temple. And even if weed isn't as bad as alcohol, it still hurts you. Why do you think it's illegal? And the whole thing with following leaders, God does say to obey the authority He has placed above us, but we are not to obey them if it contradicts with God's law. Sorta like what Paul says in the book of Acts: "We should obey God rather than men". And he said that to a roomful of the smartest dudes in the area. So, it's good advice.

Well the effects of drugs and alcohol come from the fact that they are poison. The toxins in these substances cause the effects because they make your sense malfuction. So therefore you are harming your body, which God instructs us not to do.

ok, here i go again. there is a reason i wasted 15 years of my life smoking weed!! to warn you not to!!!there is a huge difference between smoking weed and a beer. you smoke to get high! you can drink a beer and not get buzzed!!iwas teaching sunday school to 4 year olds still buzzed from staying up til 4 am the night before! i quit...kind of... i said well, just once in a while... then i would find reasons to get high. it was a rough week! i deserve an escape!just a hit-ill get a light fuzz in my head just to enjoy the evening...........................................................LET ME TELL YOU THIS--- I HAVE NEVER NEVER NEVER BEEN AS HIGH AS WHEN I HAVE BEEN IN THE LORDS PRESENCE-DEEP MEDITATION ON HIM SEEKING HIS WILL!!! oh yeah, you block that from ever happening when you got a light buzz from some stony green your"friends" sorry to unload, but, i really regret wasting about 1/2 my life doing that. i see its usefulness for medicine and psycological needs, but its not for me. i have a few friends that still do,but i had to cut loose a lot of folkjust to leave the temptations asociated-other drugs, sex, negativity, serious laziness!i stayed at the same lame job for 12 years!didnt go to school, worked for 12 years and only wound up with12.00 an hour!!!! you can do better!!i say it in love, brother!!

If marijuana was legalized, I don't know how I would stand on it. True, marijuana causes some damages to the thinking process, but how would that make it any different than caffeine? Caffeine is a drug (and does harm the body), therefore, what makes it different from marijuana? I am not talking about major distinction, but the fact that both are drugs, and do harm the body; one of the distinctions is that one is legal, and the other harms the body equally, if not more.
The way I see it, if you break even the tiniest law (example: while driving, you go above the speed limit purposefully) it is still breaking a law, thus a sin.
Do not take this as if I support marijuana, because I definitely do not.

OK, here's my logic.
As far as I know, everyone in the New Testament drank. However, several passages speak against drunkenness, because when you are drunk, you are not fully aware of the consequences of your own actions and you are far more likely to sin. Getting high will also impair your judgment, and as a result the probability of you doing something you shouldn't is greatly increased.

Well, I think weed is outlawed becaue it turns people into vegetables. Most people, including Jesus, drink/drank wine and other alchohol for the enjoyment of the taste, while the rest of humankind abuse this and get drunk. Fermented beverages were an important staple in people's diets up until the purification of water became widespread, because these beverages, when fermented, are free of harmful substances. Jesus drank wine, and Jesus did not sin in his life, so drinking alchohol is not a sin. The bible doesn't mention mary-joe as far as I know, but I would rather not spend the rest of my life as a veggie, so I'm going to avoid it.

Actually the THC gets stored in the fat cells of your brain for about two to four weeks.
