I personally view this as somewhat weird.
It started a few years ago when I was 13 or 14. I was lying in bed and had just woken up. I know for a fact that I was 100% awake. I then heard a rushing sound gradually enter my ears and I felt as if a weight was on top of me trying to push me down below the bed. I can't move, I'm sort of locked in whatever position I was in when it started while this happens. I then have to, well, "tell myself" to stop, I have to think of it. I'm not sure exactly how to explain it.
After this first incident I got up and got a drink, then I lied down again. The same exact thing happened again in exactly the same way. There was a bad feeling that came along with this experience, at the very least it didn't feel good.
It's happened to me maybe 10 times over the last 2-3 years. The last incident was two months ago or so and the difference between this one and the rest was that I was sleeping and I woke up suddenly already in the middle of this... process. I felt even worse during this one, somewhat closer to terror and my arms were locked somewhat up. If I remember right, I was sweating during this most recent incident. What I don't know is what happened to time during the last one, I didn't pay attention to my clock. (I wish I would have.)
The first time this happened I had no idea what was going on... I didn't know if Jesus had came back. I wondered, while it was happening, if I had been passed over because I was being pushed down and I didn't feel like I was being lifted.
The only major incident in my life that happened around the time this started was my parent's divorce, although it was a better divorce than many have to go through so I don't really see how that ties in. I really doubt that has anything to do with it.
I just have no idea what this is or why it's happening to me. Every time it's happened I have had no doubt about me being awake. I'm lucky to have and remember one dream a month as it is yet I know I'm awake when this happens.
Sooo... I don't know. Do with this topic as you wish.

Ok, this is gonna sound weird, but I heard about something like this. I was watching a program on the Discovery channel about alien abductions. They said that it is most likely a sleeping disorder. What happens to you is you may hear a "whooshing" sound or a dripping sound. You also sense a presence in the room and you are temporarily paralyzed. This kinda sounds like what you are going through.

I don't sense a presence. It's not a wooshing sound or a dripping sound, it's more of a ringing (the same kind as when you have hearing damage) and I just gradually hear more white noise.
The weight is the wierdest thing about it, it feels as if something (not someone... it's just a weight basically) is trying to push me through my bed. It almost feels as if I am starting to go through, but not really.

And also, how could it be a sleeping disorder if I am awake? I was only woken by this one time, the other times I had been awake for a little while already before it happened.

I've had encounters but it wasn't an alien. And dreams... but, they were closely related. They stopped after a while. Finally after things were straightened out. Still makes me shudder.
Strange dream my friend.

It sounds a little like what happened is Mohammed (founder of Islam). Look at this page: www.thespiritofislam.com/text/Q06.html"And then, the spirit squeezed Mohammed very tightly, that he thought that he was going to die."

Anyhow, you should see a doctor who specializes in sleeping disorders.

I have been reading the forum for a little while as an unregistered guest, but your post inspired me to join. I have had a similar experience four times in the past two years. Before the first two years ago I had never experienced anything like it before. Here is my story...
When my Grandmother was hospitalized two years with pneumonia, I awoke in the middle of the night with every hair raised on my neck, a tremendous chill, and I could not move a muscle. I was terrified ( never having experienced anything like this before!), I tried to call out to my wife but I couldn't make more than a weak whisper. Now, in my experience, it almost felt like someone touching my head. Anyway, after a minute, I forced myself to do the sign of the cross (I'm Catholic) and the feeling slowly subsided. Two days later my Grandmother passed away. About a year later, I had the same feeling (only a little stronger!). Three days later my aunt passed away who had been suffering from cancer. I had the same experience three weeks ago (this time not as strong, but still frightening!). Two days later my first cousin passed away from heart failure. I felt it again last week, but thank God nothing happened. However, I will admit that it has freaked me out! Three out of four times I've felt this, someone I loved has died! I do believe in the supernatural (after all, the Bible states that God created the seen and unseen), but I have never REALLY had any kind of supernatural experience until this! I asked my priest about this a few weeks ago, but he just suggested I talk to a psychologist. The few people I've told about this think I'm either making it up or have suddenly become unbalanced (except for my wife. She KNOWS I'm unbalanced! LOL!). Anyway, it's sort of comforting to know that other people experience similar things (although you didn't mention bad things happening). Alien abductions?! I don't believe that to be the case (from first-hand experience!), but like the Charlie Daniels song goes, "There's just some things in this world you just can't explain!" (Now THERE'S a first I bet, mentioning Charlie Daniels on a BTA forum!)
By the way, I just went tonight to my local Christian bookstore in Huntsville Alabama to buy the BTA CD, but they sold the last one two hours before! AAAARRRGGHHH! I have to wait until they get more in next week! The guys that work there are fans, also. They were sort of surprised when I asked for BTA because I don't really look like a heavy metal guy, 37 y.o. nerdy looking. I should have got the CD last week, but being my age, I had my mind made up to buy the new Stryper CD (can you say NOSTALGIA boys and girls? Not a bad CD, but it's no BTA!). Oh well, everybody support this band! I wish I could make it to Birmingham next week for the show!

Sounds very similar to what happened to Emily Rose honestly. If anyone saw the movie (which actual facts were recorded in it) it really did happen to her. She was lying on a bed and she was suddenly pushed down while being awake and couldn't move. I think eventually the bed nearly or did break. It might just be an attack from Satan, my best advice is to find some scripture that ties into evil havng no power upon u and start spitting it out when your in those times. This is definently something very spiritual, and it doesn't sound like the good kind.

I would definitely read the bible, pray, and see a doctor who deals with sleep disorders.
