There is a man in Afghanistan, Abdul Rahman, that is facing being put to death for converting from Islam to Christianity. Please pray that he will be used to start the growth of Christianity in the middle east. The middle east is in desparate need for Christ. I hate to admit this, but I am finding it very hard personally to accept Muslims as my brethren after quotes like the following:
“For 30 years, we have fought religious wars in this country and there is no way we are going to allow an Afghan to insult us by becoming Christian,” said Mohammed Jan, 38, who lives opposite Rahman’s father, Abdul Manan, in Kabul. “This has brought so much shame.”
And the following:
Police arrested him last month after discovering him in possession of a Bible during questioning over a dispute for custody of his two daughters. Prosecutors have offered to drop the charges if Rahman converts back to Islam, but he has refused.
Like I said, I am really struggling to keep from being prejudiced against Muslims, brought on by this type of attitude and behavior. I know it's wrong, but it is very difficult!

Hey, man. I'm really new here, but I feel what you feel. My cousin died in Iraq, and I know a couple more people who have died over there. After my cousin died, I was ready to go over there and kill everybody. I hated them. I still have this attitude to a certain extent, and it is hard to love people that hate you, and have killed people you love, your brothers. I talked to my youth pastor about it, and my accountability partner, and even the rest of my band. It is much easier to think when you have people alongside you praying for you and helping you. I will definitely pray for this guy in Afganistan, and I will pray for you, and you can pray for me too. Thanks man.

I read about this on lifeteen.com. Its so sad that the people think they have a right to kill this man, while christians bleed defending them from their fellow muslims. Absolutely disgusting.
I'll be praying that this man doesn't have to become yet another martyr.

The people on these boards, even if we disagree on certain aspects of things, are always very thoughtful, incisive, and supportive of each other. They're a great bunch of guys and gals and we all have our love for BTA's music! So, feel free to post anytime you wish! And, again, thanks for your prayers, I need them. I'm very seriously considering starting classes to become a deacon in the next few years, and that is a big step for me. I have been trying to start readying myself spiritually and personally, and I definitely need all of the spiritual strength I can get!

i pray that the Spirit will lead all of us on our journey. that the Lord will guide and guard us and if we are martyred for His glory, then so be it. its not our will but the Fathers.its tragic to be killed for your beliefs and horrible for the family. many wonderful, God-fearing people for the last 2000 years have been killed for professing faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.the bible tells us we will be hated. but when we suffer for Jesus we glorify Him by our faith. it honors God. i dont wish it on anyone, but at the same time i gotta give control to God. recently the military found out where some christian hostages were and rescued them. if it is His will, this afghani christian will be freed.we all are praying for that outcome!

wow, i was glad to hear that. i dont like to feel so much prejudice to the muslims, but i do. the thing that really got me was listening to the sound byte of theat guy a few months back. he was a contractor of somekind, and they recorded a clip of them cutting off his head with a saw, you can hear him scream, and they keep chanting prayers, after a couple minutes he goes quiet, but the sawing continues......bleh
