Sorry, I haven't even heard of them. Do they have a fan website or anything so I can do some research?

Somewhere I did see a page dedicated to them, but can't think of the website's address. Extol covered one of their songs on their Paralysis CD.

I love this band. Brandon Ebel (the big cheese at Tooth and Nail/SolidState) and I talked about them and he assured me that if they ever needed any help getting back together he would be all about working it out. unfortunately he also said he knows a couple of the guys and that doesnt look like it would ever happen. Anywho I love them.

It seemed like after Dimensions came out and the little bit of producing they did (Living Sacrifice's Debut and Inhabit), Kurt fell off the face of the Earth. Joey is playing in a band called Fountain of Tears. They never had a solid bass player in their lineup. Yeah, I'd love to see them get back together.

well they are a pretty aquired taste. they sound a lot like Extol's synergy except a little less polished. the vocals (like on Synergy) are usually what most people have a hard time with. most of my friends dont really care for them, but i like them a lot.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa! Wait a minute guys, how many times do we have to go through this?
DOUG! CHILL! Doug, by the way, did you pack a lunch and ride the bus to school?

I saw a picture of Believer...ya, and I pointed at it saying to myself, "I know who that is!" Now, I just need to hear some tunes.

A Believer reunion would be great... but wouldn't it be unfair to all the other bands existing? If they were that good 15 yrs ago, how good would they be now?

Believer is coming back, seriously. The news broke over the summer that they were writing a new album.

Kurt and Joey have written the first song. So says Joey. www.joeydaub.comFor those who haven't heard the band: Extractions from Mortality is their first album, = straight-ahead thrash metal. Fans of the first Living Sacrifice album will like it. Sanity Obscure and Dimensions were far more experimental and progressive, incorporating jazzy riffs (as Atheist and Cynic were doing at the time) and off-timing. Dimensions was even more experimental, with an operatic soprano and violinist (and maybe also a cellist?) as official members of the band.

A Believer reunion would be great... but wouldn't it be unfair to all the other bands existing? If they were that good 15 yrs ago, how good would they be now? Even better. I read an article awhile ago in the Globe and Mail outlining two types of experimental artists: those who rely on the energy and lack of direction of youth, and those who calculate and refine. Authors like F Scott Fitzgerald were the former - their earliest novels were their most well-known because they relied on their youthful experimentation to come up with sudden flashes of brilliance, but were unable to create any form of consistency. Meanwhile, authors like Dostoevsky continually experimented and learned from past mistakes to refine their style - their latest novels were their most widely-acclaimed because of this. If you look at Believer's progress from a simple thrash band to an avant-garde progressive thrash band, I think things could only get better (especially since, I'm sure, both have been playing quite a bit and getting even more experience under their belts).

The thought of Believer coming back is amazing! To see these guys play with BTA would be an absolute bone crushing show!
