Man, I got the Believer reissues 'Sanity Obscure' and 'Dimensions' in the mail this week from RadRockers along with a bunch of other great metal discs. Not too spoil myself, I only opened up one album per day, and I finally have come to the Believer - Sanity Obscure today. I love it, it reminds me alot of Extol - Synergy (probably since they are both thrash, but I have never really heard anything close to Peter Espevoll's vocals from that album.) When I think about that, it's kinda funny because I used to have this HM Mag video tape that contained a interview with Extol (pre-Undecieved) and they all cited Believer as a influence and they said they were listening to them alot at that point, so it seems to make sense that they would later evolve into something some similar as Believer.
I just finished reading a article on Guitar 6 about Christian Metal and the writer spoke highly of Dimensions, so I'm excited to give that disc a spin tomorrow.

Well, Extol does do Shadow of Death, which is from Believer's first CD, Extraction from Mortality. I have their version on Paralysis. They do a good job on it.

From http://www.JoeyDaub.com:
"The Believer writing is slowly moving forward. Although Dr. Bachman is quite busy, we are still putting aside time for the project. My hope is that we can get some rough recordings on the site sometime in the future so we can get your feedback on the material."

Believer is amazing, they were one of the few Christian bands to truly impact the secular scene. I actually think they were right on the cutting edge at the time they were out, and I look forward to hearing the new stuff. Even if it is just some stuff put together that is like the past I will dig it. Of course i find myself listening to many of the old Thrash favorites and digging them. (whiplash, Exodus, Metallica, Slayer etc)
