Everyone knew this was bound to come along at one time or another, and I'm just bored. So, I'll post some, you all can post some, maybe I'll post some more, who knows?
Don't kill me... *laugh*
My first poem is actually an old one, but I was just reading last night about one of my favorite character's form the Bible, Gideon. And these are basically about him. And the other is sort of Daniel, sort of me.
"Planet In Rebellion"
Strange and Different
These lifeless idols
A disgusting ritual
provoked maddness
Spreading radically
Like a fatal virus
Real and rampant
this issue
Watching us squirm
"Why me, God?"
Deep Purpose
Clear conscience
You never have to cry alone.
"The Judge"
Handed over in disgust
From evil and lame excuses
abandoned to cruelty
Judges sent for redemption
faith pushed them past
limitations and prevention
acting on convictions
coming out of the bubble
knocking down enemies
and their altars and idols
Making minds once fogged
Become clear
Motivation.
Alliance.
Victory.
"Jerubbaal"
The ram's horn
was the call to arms
The battle was to begin
An enemy once feared
had no luck
pitted against
might so great
Across rivers
through dense woods
marching under One Banner
the symbol of a cross
Pure and sincere
were their souls
step by step
onto a battle
already won for them.
"Chain Induced Worship"
Restriction
Bound by modesty.
Schism
Tethered by rule.
Color is fashion
Fashion is death.
No love for noise
A perfect drifter
Past behind
Coming,
A mundane future ends.
Now, an explanation.
The first three are about Gideon. "Jerubbaal" was the name given to him, which meant, "Let Baal defend himself."
Gideon was told by God to lead an army into battle against the Midianites, and he obeyed. They defeated the Midianites by simply "blowing on trumpets".
The third one, I take into context with Daniel. It is my view on Praise and Worship nowadays. Now I know this is selfish on my part, so please forgive me. But I cannot stand it when people say you can only worship God one way. Whether that be through hymnals, or slower worship songs. But I suppose it's all in the way the person views it, and how they get their connection with God.
Anyways, this poem ("Chain Induced Worship"), is simply me going against the legalistic views of the Christian religion on Worshipping God.
All I can say is that... well... Daniel danced naked in front of the Lord......
