I used to listen to this band constantly in 8th grade, but was highly dissapointed with "the ever passing moment" and quit listening to them for a while. I saw that their new album was online, so I had to check it out. It's shockingly really good for the style. Just don't expect real punk, and you'll be in for a treat (I think). www.purevolume.com/album_preview/mxpx

I used to have a friend that knew the lead singer. They were best friends. Kinda funny...the lead singer threatened me, but that's another story for another time.

yeah....well mike is interesting.ive never known someone to have as many girlfriends spread out across the US...ugh.I was once advised by personal friends of MxPx (in fact my Bible Teacher/Soccer Coach/etc.'s wife was in their roadie's wedding...and was escorted down the isle by Yuri),she told me plainly..."Marry someone that looks like Mike Herrera, dont marry a Christian like Mike Herrera" Ouch.
I gave up on MxPx a long time ago.I try to listen to them now but since Ive worked up a few years of hardcore/metal....the plain riffs just annoy me.

I've listened to hardcore/metal for a while now, so now hxc riffs are boring to me. I've made a promise to myself not to have any breakdowns in my band's demo.

Wow, no breakdowns? Just musical interludes, right?
