One of my favorit bands is Zao. I think Zao rocks face. Daniel Weyandt can and does write some of the most amazing lirics ever. Do any of you own The Funeral of God by Zao or any of their other CD's. I think the concept behind the Funeral of God CD is amazing. My favorit Zao CD is their self titled because it has two of my favorit songs ever by any band, Five Year Winter And The Dreams that don't Come True. I have all of their CD xcept The Splintard Shards and Both All Else Failed CD's. I think all of the CD's by them that I have are very good. ;D Rock on Zao you rock my face!!!!!
So what do yall think of Zao?

I have a friend who is huge into Zao. From what I have heard, they have definently left their mark on the hardcore scene. A lot of copycats out there. But, everytime I watch those guys from Furnace fest a couple years ago, and I see the one guitar player leap up in the air and come straight down on his knees, it makes me want to go to the hospital and have knee replacement surgery.

I love it when he jumps in the air like that.

I've heard that about Jesse. And I've heard that the new drummer made a difference in the band.

Man, speaking of old Underoath, I meant to play a riff from one of Maylene's songs while I was up on the stage getting soundchecked on Saturday. Roman and Lee would have loved that!

Hahahaha hey, did Alan tell you what happened the other day? Apparently, one of the guys from Maylene was in very close proximity to my house during one of DOAFR's practices. He asked one of my neighbors who was playing and was like "They're really good"

i think they such an awesome thing when they wrote FOG, they got out on a limb and spoke from the heart...i love that. i personally like all of the zao albums, exept splintered shards of seperation or whatever...it didnt sound like zao at all. and yeah i agree the drums where much better on funeral of God as with any other album, as well as the bass.

ZAO has, for quite a number of years roughly equal to the number of which I have even been into heavy music, been one of my favourite bands and they will continue to be so. I think there is much to say about this band, but to sum it up: Where Blood and fire Bring Rest, Liberate Te Ex Inferis: Save Yourself From Hell and Funeral of God are their best albums. The TFU Split EP is also great. Pre-Dan Weyandt ZAO was lame. Late-Jesse Smith ZAO was lame. In the end, Jesse leaving the band was good on many levels. I wish them the best in their continuing career as one of the top and most influential metalcore acts out there.
