The musical influences for this song are Zao, old Extol, Living Sacrifice, Aletheian
Small Spark (Border with sin)
In the valley of pleasure we search for the landmarks that define the boundary of forbidden territory. We want to go as far as we can, we want to see how close we can get without crossing the line. We play around the edge, tip-toeing so as not to trespass, when we should be fleeing.
We lay our foundation on the border with sin. We are told that the fruit there is the sweetest. But the vines grow across the line and it is hidden. Soon we trespass more than we ever dreamed.
We took on more than what we thought it was. We overestimated what we could handle. Wading in, all of a sudden we are chest deep. A mere stream is raging rapids. We are carried away, but still we fight it, seemingly unaware of our frailty.
Lost in our own backyard of choice. x2
We play with a small spark; we’re consumed from head to toe. We play with a small spark, can’t put out the flames. x3

I like it...is there a certain story behind this?

Thanks. Not really a particular story behind it, but too often I see myself and my peers asking "Well is this a sin if you do it in such and such a way?" or something, basically trying to get as close to sin as possible without going over the edge, when the Bible says "flee from evil."

Interesting, I was reading about this subject in my Bible the other day. It was in the early parts of Matthew, I believe.
