www.womedia.org/thatsafamily.htmSome of you may have already heard about this but I just wanted to see what you think and tell you how I feel. Check out the site linked above first then read the news article liked below and post your thoughts. www.philly.com/mld/inquirer/news/local/states/new_jersey/16585431.htmI feel that it's not the school systems, curriculum directors or the school boards place to teach my children about things such as a homosexual couple choosing to raise children, it's mine. Yes those people are out there and no we should not ignore that BUT it should not be part of a 3rd grade curriculum. This is 3rd grade for crying out loud not freshmen year health or sex ed. Why not have a video in the curriculum that says "hi my name is bla bla bla and my parents are Christians and this is what we believe" I don't think that will ever happen and I don't know that it should. On the total opposite extreme why not have a video that states "Hi I'm so and so and my parents are bigots and thats O.K. I don't think that will ever happen and I don't think that it should ether. Where will it end? I'm really don't have to worry because we home school but it ticks me off just the same.

Ok... so after reading those articles...
I would have to say, if I had kids that age in school, I wouldn't want them to find out about homosexuality. Quite frankly, in my mind it's a sin, and it's something that very young children should not be exposed to.
On the issue of tolerance in general:
I'm sick and tired of all this tolerance that people are trying to push at everybody else. In my personal view, they're essentially forcing their beliefs on me, and being intolerant to my beliefs. If you're so damned tolerant, then TOLERATE ME!!! Leave me alone and let me believe what I believe, and let me teach my children what I want to teach them.
[/angry ranting]
I'm willing to respect people's beliefs, as long as they don't attempt to force me to believe the same thing. I'm also willing to be openminded about things, and I'm willing to admit that I'm wrong on issues. But when you start getting into the issue and calling me "intolerant", I'm going to shut down and ignore you completely, because you obviously don't have any respect for me at all.
