I'm not really sure what to call this, title wise or as to what type of literature this would be. I've never really been into writing just for the sake of writing, but last night wrote this, mostly with the idea of it being something out of the ordinary and somewhat odd. So just let me know if you think I've actually got something creative here, or if you think it's the ramblings of someone who really needs some sleep.
It starts slowly enough. You're alone, it's dark. Nothing to out of the ordinary. But something is wrong. There isn't an explanation for how you know this. But you do know it. The feeling that there is something about to occur, maybe in an instant from now, maybe in an eternity. But something is wrong. It's all around you, but at the same time, it's nowhere. Your mind is trying to rationalize this, but there isn't anything to process. Fight or flight, but there's nothing to attack and nowhere to go that it won't be. It isn't there at all, and how can you get away from something that does not exist? Something is wrong. Something. By now, your stomach is feeling uneasy. You close your eyes for a moment, and the world begins to spin. Your mind seems to float away from your body, as if your sight was the only thing connecting you to the real world. Something is really wrong. It's almost as if you are falling into some sort of pit, with no end in sight. It's odd having this feeling. Something so odd and out of the ordinary, yet you still realize that you aren't moving at all. It's all in your mind. You snap your eyes open and the sensation of whirling away from your physical body stops. It's still there, whatever, “it,” is. Waiting... for something. For nothing. It doesn't really matter, it's there. And it's behind you. But it isn't anywhere at all. You know there's nothing there. But... NO. You know it's just your imagination. Or is it?
