What's up guys? It's been a while. Well I figured I'd start a thread about what I have been doing a ton of lately, Film Photography. I am a Photo major and this semester I am taking my first darkroom class, and it's a BLAST! Seriously, if you haven't tried it, I can't recommend it enough. Getting in the darkroom and developing your own film and printing your own pictures... there's just nothing like it. Does anybody else do this sort of stuff? Also, what kind of film cameras do you guys have/use?
Personally I have:
Pentax K1000 with a 35mm Lens. I use this one the most right now. I also have an Ansco Shur Shot 20 which takes 120mm film (haven't gotten to use it yet but I'm looking forward to it)
And my baby, a Leica M4-2. I love showing that thing off and using it.
Anyway, I really hope this is a subject some of you like too!
God Bless, Chad

My roommate takes photos. That's about all I can say on the subject.

i have a DSLR, but I would love to get into film.
I read a book at the library about how to build a large format camera, which I want to do at some stage.

I've been looking at manual focus M42 mount lenses; there's some absolute bargains out there. There's a 135mm Asahi Pentax Super Takumar on an online auction closing midday tomorrow going for $2 at the moment

I'm hoping your excitement for film will eventually turn into an excitment for digital.

Anyone got any digital camera recommendations? I'm thinking around $200 is the highest I'd spend.
preferably able to take close-up shots, record HD video, and good battery life

I have a little Canon and it's been great, though it doesn't take HD videos (the newer ones might now though - mine's a couple years old). It takes fine up-close shots, is small/compact, and overall has been a great camera!

Thanks. Ha, I actually did end up buying a Canon. Today I gave in and bought a Canon Powershot SX130
