Does anyone know if the members of BTA have publicly documented a statement of faith? I would like to see in detail what they believe. I think I have picked up hints of unorthodox beliefs in their lyrics and I just want to have my suspicions either confirmed or denied.
Thanks

I don't know of any band that issues a detailed statement of faith other than whether or not they are Christian. However, I am curious which lyrics you are referring to. Sounds like a case of misinterpreted imagery or metaphor because I never picked up on any unorthodox beliefs.

The closest you might get is their description of what the band name means (the sticky in this section of the boards). If you skipped the BIO page here is a breif explanation of the name; "Becoming The Archetype". According to Genesis 1:26, "God said, ‘Let us make man in our image'". Since Jesus was the only person to ever live a sinless life, He is the ultimate archetype (or original design) of humanity. As a result, the life of a Christ follower is all about being conformed to the image of God or in other words, "Becoming The Archetype". Yeah not sure about the unorthodox stuff. I know there was some confusion over the lyrics to Self Existent: A man buried but never deadBut that was discussed in another thread and as I recall, the song is of a book (by C.S. Lewis?) that is an analogy of Christ, thus not claiming that He was in fact not dead...

Doesn't matter to me really.
I haven't been religious for a long time. I still like their music, their awesome riffs and music. I feel the same way about Zao. Zao went from a Christian band to "We are a band that happens to have Christian dudes in the band." and I think it really pissed off a lot of people, but people change, bands change, etc.
I also think such matters are personal, and don't necessarily need to be publicly strewn about. If a band wants to send a message through their lyrics and not specify their own personal beliefs or lack of beliefs, whatever it may be, that is up to them and fine with me.
They still make good music either way. (edit) I just realized I revived a thread inactive since July. CRAP
