Please don't troll this thread, I'm pretty upset about this as I've known this person for around 7 years.
I spoke to a schoolfriend this evening who I'd not been in contact with for a few months and found that life has got very complicated for her.
In September, after some issues within the relationship, she broke off an engagement. I think that the two of them weren't properly considering it when they got engaged (she was 16 and he 15) and so this comes as very little surprise to me. I know that they had been sexually involved for some time before they eventually broke up, so there are a number of ties there which shouldn't be.
Shortly after this, she met a guy at uni and is now dating him. They are having sex from a very early stage of the relationship, and she recently had a positive result on a pregnancy test. She's going to the doctor's tomorrow to confirm this. She's not sure what she'd do in the event she is pregnant, and she doesn't know how supportive her boyfriend will be.
Alongside all this, she's home for Christmas, which is really hard for her. Home life isn't fun, and her dad and nan can be very aggressive for no real reason. Her younger brother has also been grounded indefinitely because (while cleaning his room for decorating) their dad found butchers' knives and "loads of crazy sh*t".
It really makes me sad to see this girl suffer- there's never been any time for her to grow up. She's been helping look after her mum (her parents are separated) for some time, probably since she was around 5. Her mum has serious mental health issues, many of which have been inherited by my friend. This situation is also hard for me to understand and deal with as the girl will profess to be a Christian, but hasn't ever really found any church to go to because she can't really be bothered.
