It seems to me that Zao has changed...not because their newest albums is titles "The Funeral of God" or anything but because of the recent interviews i've read...to me it sounds like they would rather sit on the fence between christian music and non christian music...i'd liek to know what the rest of you think..thanks

I know their latest drummer IS NOT a Christian. I think Dan, Russ and Scott are all good guys, their human just like us too.

I think there's also a difference between playing in both markets, and sitting on the fence with your beliefs. Alot of bands that have strong Christian beliefs distance themselves from the Christian music market because they don't want to be pigeon-holed into that little niche. They want to play for everybody and effect everybody's life.
I'm assuming you're talking about their personal faith in reference to Zao though?

Well, my thing is, I concentrate on lyrics that are uplifting, I dont always get too concerned with the band's marketing or fence sitting, if you can feel God moving in their music, then that is great, if not, I just ignore it for the most part.

i cant say enough about this record. but honestly what else can you expect from Dan. Race of standing still, trashcan hands, everything else. He should write things besides music. honestly they are some of the very best lyrics around, if you havent read them then you need to, before you question Zao's faith.

umm zao are christian and they always were actually im against all that "christian music market" in my opinion there should be one market music isnt just about the lyrics music is music it doesen't matter what you belive in... if someone agrees with your lyrics and beliefs, cool! if not, well, god bless him i think that should be the opinion of any christian band u can talk about your beliefs in the lyrics and talk about christ , but why make a christian market music is music no matter what your message is in your lyrics
that's my opinion and dont get me wrong im christian
