Good Lawd, Lakewood Church must be stopped. Motivational "gospel" from a man who doesn't have the balls to publicly acknowledge Jesus Christ as the only way to the Father, but is quick to make such ridiculous claims as "not only do we need God, but God needs us". He gives God/Christ the role of a "helper" and nothing more with every sermon and takes Scripture ridiculously out of context.
Whoa, I just defended the f**k out of true Christianity. Is this some kind of reverse psychology proselytizing? Not on my watch. *dons a black cloak and bathes in virgin goat blood*

Go see the Westboro Baptist church. Then come back and tell me that Lakewood is Christianity's biggest problem.

Lakewood is Christianity's biggest problem. Please direct me to where I implied that. kthx I think Christianity's biggest problem is its very existence.

I never said that you implied, or directly stated that Lakewood was Christianity's biggest problem. I was merely stating that Lakewood is probably one of the lesser problems that we as a Church have currently. My apologies if I came off incorrectly.
Incidentally, might I ask why you think that Christianity's biggest problem is its existence?

I would disagree that one of the world's biggest, most famous and attended churches being so incredibly heretical is a "lesser" problem, but whatever.
And I greatly dislike all forms of religion and think that it causes infinitely more harm than good, but that's another topic.

Two different problems.
Lakewood = perfect example of christianity in america. the be-a-christian-for-the-direct-benefits-i-receive, god-is-here-for-me, "prosperity", f**k the poor christianity.
Westboro = the perfect example of Christianity + extremism - several key elements = bats**t lunatics.

How could you, as a non-Christian, say something within Christianity is heretical or not: as all Christianity must be a heresy to you?

That's a funny video. I have nothing against Joel Osteen though, and none of the messages I've heard from him ever inspired me to think that way. I doubt most people who really want to live a sinful life would be in a Christian church to begin with though.

Oh yeah, sorry, I don't know if the song specifically intended Joel Osteen, I think it might just be the interpretation of the guy who pout the video on youtube, but yeah, I really don't know. I've never really heard Joel Osteen, I don't have a clue what kind of a message he preaches, all I know is I dislike big churches because they're less personal.
The song is also critical of trying to be 'modern' or 'relevant' with a church, trying to please men, which usually leads to a crappy message.
