I would argue that "blessing" the partner creates happiness and benefit for the self. People are so simple in a some ways. Smiles are contagious and seeing others we know happy makes us happy whether it is subconscious or not.
Example: Every time you lurk a friend's fb pics and see them smiling, don't tell me you're not smiling too. I see it all the time at school, I do it as well.

Maybe I'm just being cynical but it seems like most marriages these days don't last and divorce follows. Like almost everyone I know - their relationship "fails" / doesn't last. Makes me feel hopeful. Pathetic.

Because:
Also because monogamy is the social norm. If people were more open to the idea of polygamy then we'd have less divorce. It just gets a lot more complicated though because of our own egos. Jealously, miscommunication and all that. YOU WENT OUT WITH JENNA BUT NOT ME??!!? YOU GUYS WENT TO BURGER KING AND DIDN'T ASK IF I WANTED TO GO!?!?!
I know if this wasn't a Christian forum I'd have more people on my side saying sex is important in a relationship. But yeah, it is. Its a huge reason for divorce. Arguments usually become shouting matches and people in general are retarded at communicating, women b**ch/menstruate and men yell/get violent/testosterone trip.

Once you start talking about how their opinions are based on the Bible and Christianity, that's when a thread starts to go down hill.

Well I highly doubt any non-Moron Christian believes in polygamy

Sex is very important in a marriage. I don't know what that has to do with what we've been talking about. I also don't know what you're talking about with the fb pics.

You must be different people with different opinions.

The concept of marriage is so overrun with ideological bulls**t. What it is? Its just two people who are the closest of friends. Religious lunatics and psychological nutjobs have totally decimated this rather simple relationship with all these logistics and rules and s**t. Marriage is just an "official" way of declaring your feelings for a specific person. Its so simple and yet has become a maze with no way out. Its just you and some chick or dude kickin' it for your whole lives. Really, this isn't difficult.

I agree but there is a difference between closest friends who are un-married (have no sexual intimacy) vs. closest friends who are married (have sex).
