That's a pretty intense movie but really good imo. What'd you think of it?

The same. Kubrick knows how to use the rawness of the shots/scenery/dialogue to create a constant tension.

Indeed. It's a great story too. I love the creativity and how everything that he's ever done in the past comes back all at the same time to haunt him, and the order of events that lead from one to another. Great stuff. Kubrick is a master indeed. I wasn't a big fan of "Full Metal Jacket" when I saw it (especially the second-half) though I thought "The Shining" was excellent. They just don't make horror movies like that anymore...

I did find the use of Russian words interesting, also ("malchik" = "boy," "devochka" = "girl," "moloko" = "milk," and some others)

Have you read the book (A Clockwork Orange)? I haven't, though my uncle has and he was telling me how there's almost a whole separate language that they use in the book which wasn't really transferred into the movie. I wonder how much Russian is used in the book?

Hahahaha Scott. Try reading the book! I'm halfway through it (not sure if I'll finish it - it's a little too dark/twisted for my tastes... much more so than the movie). I do like the movie though. Can't say I can be of any help with what actually "happened" in that movie however. Watch "Videodrome" man. Directed by the same guy but I think much better.

Sweet, let me know what you think of it. It's a bit more comprehensible yet you're still not sure what's real and what's not. While Naked Lunch is more of a biographical film about William S. Burroughs, Videodrome is more of a social commentary, though both are totally bizarre, hallucinatory, creative, and unique. Gosh this is making me want to watch them both again...

Sawed The Tree of Life, was okay overall, mainly enjoyed the first half. Had some spectacular scenes of nature, and I enjoyed seeing how the dad brought up the children which was so different from my dad's rule. It felt a little pretentious at times though, and the ending scene was really random and made no sense really. The thing I was looking forward to the whole film was the answer as to how the kid died, but they never revealed that so I was disappointed.
